What a funder-fit scan actually hands back.

A sample for an example settlement nonprofit — Lakeshore Newcomer Network, serving newcomers in Ontario. Your real scan runs on your own mandate. The third card is the part most tools skip: the eligibility gate catching a grant you can't win.

Youth Opportunities Fund

Youth-serving funder · Provincial

Not eligible — requires a youth-led applicant

Held back before scoring. Strong on theme — but the funder requires a youth-led organisation. This is the structural rule that quietly wastes weeks of drafting when a tool ranks it as a "match."

This is the eligibility gate doing its job.

The problem

Grant hunting eats the hours your mission needs.

01

Too many funders, no signal

Federal, provincial, municipal, foundation — funding lives across dozens of portals with different rules and rhythms. Nobody has time to watch them all.

02

Deadlines slip past

The right grant opened — and closed — while your team was heads-down on delivery. Missed windows are missed revenue you only notice in hindsight.

03

Wasted applications

Weeks drafting a proposal for a fund that quietly required you to be youth-led, Indigenous-led, or something you're not. Strong fit on paper, structurally ineligible in practice.

What it does

Two modules. One job: keep your pipeline focused on grants worth reviewing.

Module 01

Grant Radar

Grantwell reviews curated Canadian funder coverage and scores listed programs against your organisation's profile — geography, sector, org type, populations served. Each match is explained, line by line, with a link straight to the official program page.

  • Applicant-fit signals screened before ranking
  • Deadline urgency shown with source confirmation required
  • Every score traces back to a stated reason

Module 02

Pipeline Tracker

Every grant you're pursuing, in one board — from prospect to drafting to submitted. See what's due, what's stalled, and what each application is worth, with less need to chase status updates across email threads and spreadsheets.

  • Prospect → Drafting → Submitted → Decision, at a glance
  • Deadlines and amounts attached to every card
  • Shared visibility so fewer handoffs get missed

Why it's different

Most tools list grants. Grantwell shows which ones deserve a closer look.

The difference

A real eligibility gate

Theme fit isn't eligibility. Many funders require the applicant to be led or controlled by a specific community — youth-led, Indigenous-led, parent-led. Grantwell screens that before scoring, so a grant with an unresolved or failed applicant requirement is not presented as a clean "strong match." When a source suggests you may be better suited to a partner or mentor role, the system shows that caveat instead.

✓ Every recommendation stays tied to the official funder source.

Explainable fits

No black-box score. Every match percentage traces back to stated reasons — geography, sector, org type, populations served — and links to the official source so you can verify before you invest a single hour.

Built with the frontline

Designed around the real weekly workflow: scanning funders, checking applicant rules, deciding what to pursue, and keeping deadlines visible.

Privacy

Your nonprofit's data stays in your control.

Each client runs in its own private workspace — not a shared, multi-tenant database. Your mandate, leadership details and applicant profile are never sold or shared, and are not used to train AI models; sensitive drafting can run on a local model on your own infrastructure. And because every recommendation is explainable and linked to the official funder source, there is no black box to take on faith.

The difference is not a longer list of funders. It is knowing which grants are worth a closer look before your team spends days drafting.

Eligibility-first grant operations for Canadian nonprofits

How it works

Up and running in three steps.

1

Connect your mandate

Tell us who you serve, where you work, your org type and leadership profile. This is what powers the eligibility gate.

2

See eligible funders

Grant Radar surfaces programs worth a closer look, ranked by fit and deadline — each one explained and linked to source.

3

Track your pipeline

Move grants from prospect to submitted on one board. Deadlines, amounts and status in a single view your whole team shares.

Pilot fit

One missed grant window can cost more than the system that helps catch it.

Warm pilot

Start with a funder-fit scan.

  • Grant Radar — screened, explained funder-fit recommendations
  • Pipeline Tracker — your full pipeline on one board
  • Profile & mandate setup done with you, not handed to you
  • Pricing and pilot scope discussed after we understand your mandate

No public price menu during the pilot. We scope the work before quoting it.

No commitment

Get your free funder-fit scan.

Tell us your mandate. We'll run it through the eligibility gate and send back a short list of Canadian funders that look worth reviewing — plus the ones to skip or source-check and why.

  • A real shortlist, not a database dump
  • Applicant-fit caveats flagged on every funder
  • Yours to keep, whether or not we work together

Secure: used only to prepare your scan. Official funder pages remain the source of truth before you apply.

Questions

Before you ask.

How accurate is the eligibility check?

The gate reads each funder's stated applicant requirements — who must lead, own or control the applying organisation — and compares them to your attested profile. When a funder requires a leadership identity you haven't confirmed, Grantwell holds the grant back rather than guessing. It's built to be conservative on purpose: we'd rather flag "confirm this" than send you drafting for a grant with unresolved applicant-fit risk. Every match also links to the official source so you can verify before you commit.

What happens to our data?

Your organisation name, email and mandate are stored so we can prepare and send your funder-fit scan. We don't sell or share your information. Grantwell keeps working notes for the scan, but official funder pages remain the source of truth before any application is submitted.

How much effort is onboarding?

Light. Onboarding is a working session where we build your organisation's profile and leadership attestation with you — the inputs the eligibility gate runs on. Most teams are seeing screened matches the same week. You're not handed a blank dashboard and left to configure it.

What does it cost, really?

Pilot pricing is handled after the funder-fit scan, once we understand your mandate, funder coverage and support needs. The scan is free and yours to keep whether or not we work together.
